But there's a good reason for my nostalgic reverie: Phillis has reunited with Clouds bassist and fellow singer/songwriter Trish Young and made a four track CD-EP named after their new prosaically-if-accurately-titled band, The Girls From The Clouds.
Given both Phillis and Young have enjoyed post-Clouds musical careers, I was curious as to what drew them back together.

Review: Jodi Phillis | In Dreams I Live (Candle) by Matt Dornan
After 10 years of garnering acclaim in such Australian legends as The Clouds, this is Jodi’s first solo outing, and the freedom is apparent from the outset.
Whilst there can be no doubting the beauty of her voice and sense of melody, In Dreams I Live suffers from a hit and miss approach to arrangement and production that undermines much of the material here.

Although they've been playing toughened but accessible rock music in their native Australia for years now, the Clouds' new album arrives in the wake of the tsunami of popular women-fronted pop/rock bands (Breeders, Elastica, Veruca Salt) washing onto the shores of the alternative scene.
Gutsy girl vocals from guitarist Jodi Phillis and bassist Patricia Young propel the band's racing guitars and stylized rhythms, making Thunderhead a cornucopia of powerful, radio-ready pop songs (the Clouds should prime themselves for large scale success).
But the Clouds aren't just a band with a female facade; the four work together as intricate machinery pieces and even "Domino," with its male vocals, continues the thematic, aggressive pop.
