Jody Lynn Nye:  Waking in Dreamland
Jody Lynn Nye has created an existential fantasy world based on the interpretation of dreams in Waking in Dreamland, the first of a series of novels.
Nye raises the issue of scientific responsibility, but dilutes it by providing a knee-jerk reaction to the possible negative consequences without any real exploration of what those consequences are.
This romantic element is heightened by the frequently hackneyed and clichéd dialogue between characters, although this dialogue appears to be intentional to strengthen the non-reality of the Dreamlands.

Robert Asprin & Jody Lynn Nye:  Myth Alliances
Myth Alliances might be the perfect title for the latest entry into the adventures of the Magnificent Skeeve as this is the first novel written by an alliance between series originator Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye, although the two have previously collaborated on several short stories, four of which were collected in Myth-Told Tales.
It would seem that Asprin and Nye have decided to simplify the situation in the series by dismantling much of the apparatus Asprin set up in the previous books.
Skeeve’s blunders are, for him, learning experiences which allow him to shower his compassion on those he would try to help as well as those who would make him their enemy.

Let's have some great discussions on this Thread...you should excuse the expression...and ask me any questions you have, but first, I have a question to put to YOU.
I don't normally enjoy fantasy novels for the sake of the fantasy, but with anne's books there is always a rationale to explain what other authors will just describe with no reasoning.
