Jody David Scheckter (January 29, 1950-) is a former auto racing (The sport of racing automobiles) driver, the 1979 Formula One (additional info and facts about Formula One) World Drivers Champion.
Scheckter rapidly ascended to the ranks of Formula One after moving to Britain (A monarchy in northwestern Europe occupying most of the British Isles; divided into England and Scotland and Wales and Northern Ireland) in 1970.
Jody rewarded them with a 3rd place finish in the driver's championship and a pair of wins in Sweden (A Scandinavian kingdom in the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula) and Britain (A monarchy in northwestern Europe occupying most of the British Isles; divided into England and Scotland and Wales and Northern Ireland).

Postlethwaite's WR1 was a conventional Cosworth package but with Jody Scheckter hired from Tyrrell, the new-look team presented a strong package.
During the 1977 season, Scheckter went on to win the Monaco Grand Prix and the Canadian Grand Prix and also six other podium finishes which enabled him to finish second to Niki Lauda in the World Championship and gave Wolf fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.
