		Joe Cordiano, Ontario's globe-trotting Economic Development Minister, dined in pricey restaurants, stayed in luxury hotels, bought clothes and went to the theatre in London's famed West End last year, using his own constituency association to pick up the tab.
		Cordiano used constituency association funds raised with taxpayer-supported credits to pay for more than $44,000 in expenses, including $1,282 for clothes from Tom's Place in Toronto, $685 at Biagio Restaurant, also in Toronto, and $227 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.
		Cordiano said the expenses were appropriate and related to his work as a politician, raising money for the Liberal Party.

		The addition of the solid west part of Joe Cordiano's riding and the candidacy of Cordiano really does change the political centre of gravity around here, and could allow voters to finally emerge from the formidable shadow of the NDP leader-figures who've called this home.

		Re 1999, I don't think it was the NDP threat that pushed Kennedy out so much that another Grit heavy hitter and leadership candidate, Joe Cordiano, needed a seat--and as YSW contained Cordiano's core Italian constituency, it was a better fit for him (and in the process leaving the NDP core all but smothered).
		It is considered a Liberal stronghold and Joe Cordiano has represented parts of the riding since the eighties.
