 Progressive Canadian Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Following the dissolution of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and its merger with the Canadian Alliance into the new Conservative Party of Canada, the Progressive Canadian Party was formed by "Red Tories" who opposed the merger.
One of the organizers, Joe Hueglin, is a former Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) from Niagara Falls, Ontario.
In announcing the new party, Hueglin stated that the party had about a dozen potential candidates and a mailing list of 330 names.

The Progressive Canadians - or PC Party - is the brainchild of former Niagara Falls MP Joe Hueglin, an ardent backer of what used to be the Progressive Conservative party.
Hueglin and a small group of disgruntled former Tories successfully registered their new political entity with Elections Canada.
Hueglin and the Progressive Canadians - about 300 across Canada - created the new entity "to contest the middle" against the Liberal party, Hueglin said.

I am certain Joe's pending input will not largely be about micro-parsing the difference between the CPC and LPC on SSM.
I trust Joe will discuss current CPC policy and his proposed changes to make the CPC more electable and not drift into a vague ruminations about "socons" within the party making the CPC "scarey".

 Vive le Canada: PC Party on the ballot
During the Holiday Season, in response to an email from Joe Hueglin and Al Gullon, over 200 PC Loyalists from coast to coast to coast revived the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada by signing on as Members using the Elections Canada registration forms.
At the same time the Members were asked to sign a second set of forms in the name of “Progressive Canadian Party” to be used as a ‘nom-de-guerre’ if the Chief Electoral Officer, for whatever reason, rejected the first application.
Joe Hueglin volunteered to help with that task by acting as a ‘National Coordinator’ for the rebuilding process.
