Joseph "Joe" Mullen (born February 26, 1957) is a former ice hockey player in the National Hockey League who played for more than 16 seasons with the St.
Mullen spent time as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins before being named head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on December 20, 2005.
Mullen scored his 500th career goal against Patrick Roy at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado during a game between the Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins on March 14, 1997.

Mullen had a great shot, was strong on his skates and was not easy to knock out of the play.

First of all, It's great to finally see that I am not alone as a fan of Slippery Rock Joe.
I attended the Pens/Rangers game March 19 and mentioned Mullen to Tom Rooney (Penguins COO) in an interview during the first intermission.
We both agreed and are pretty confident that Joey will most likely be inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame this year.
