  Felix the Cat
Oriolo struck a deal with the Felix's current owner, Pat Sullivan's nephew, to begin a new series of Felix cartoons on televsion.
Oriolo went on to star the cat in 260 television cartoons from 1959 and 1960.
Nevertheless, Don Oriolo continues to market the character today in projects such as Felix the Cat: The Movie[?] (1991), and the television series Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat[?] (1996) and Baby Felix[?] (2000).

Unfortunately, the business arrangement between Joe Oriolo and his then partner, Burt Hecht, fell apart, and as part of the settlement, the Hecht departed with the "Princess Knight" masters never to be heard from again.
An interesting note: Before the split between Joe Oriolo and Bert Hecht, Joe's son, Don Oriolo, and a fellow named Roger Grod, managed to edit several of the episodes together for a theatrical release, giving it the title "Choppy and the Princess".
Don Oriolo gave me some vague explanation but it is still unclear why it was done.

According to the credits, Pat Sullivan, owner of the studio, was the guiding genius behind Felix — but in reality, the cartoons were the work of a young animator named Otto Messmer, who produced the entire four-minute debut all by himself, working at home on a freelance basis.
It wasn't long before a young Joe Oriolo, Otto's protege, began working closely with Felix.
They are intended only as illustrations of cartoon artwork being offered and may not be reproduced in any form for any other purpose without the permission of their respective owners.

In 1960, Felix was revived once more, this time on TV, by producer Joe Oriolo.

As for the Fleischers treatment of Van Beuren personell, Joe Oriolo and Win Sharples seem to have done all right there.
First, Jack Mercer did the Felix voice for the Joe Oriolo series in 1959.
It is not a fair and proven fact that Fleischer's or anyone else's loss was anyone else's gain since there are so many other factors and events that figure into each situation, the most being sustaining a job during the depression.

Writers Ken Spears and Joe Ruby started to build the dog more substantially into the plot and finally Silverman had a solid show, now called 'I'm S-s-s-s-scared', to take to his board in New York City.
The board at CBS took one look at the storyboards for the program and vetoed the entire series under the fear that it would be too scary and intense for children.

Messmer and his assistant Joe Oriolo worked on the print version of Felix as well as the films, and Bill Holman is thought to have ghosted the strip from 1932 to 1935.
