		Later in the film, when Joe is brought to a California animal preserve, the gala event speaker begins his introduction of Joe by saying, "The world began as a garden..." The tempters (serpent) in this story are the poachers who use their financial influence to tempt others to obtain their evil goals.
		In the Disney film Mighty Joe Young is used as a symbol of endangered animals world wide and placed in the context of the biblical Eden.
		Jan 08 1999, The depiction of Joe Young, the giant gorilla, is darn near perfect.

So although Schoedsack, Cooper, and Co. did make another "giant ape in the city" movie, they turned the story on its head to give us a very interesting—and entertaining—commentary about mankind itself.
		Joe's actions are a direct result of the situations he is put in, and the results of his actions are believable and natural.
		The truck Joe is hiding in has to stop to get air in the tire, then a bridge is out and the truck gets stuck in the soft soil of the construction site, etc. This shouldn't be a problem for younger viewers, but it is a weak point in an otherwise excellent plot.

		Joe is a masterpiece of special effects wizardry, looking more real than any giant primate ever to walk across the silver screen.
