Joe job - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Joe jobs usually look like normal spam, although they might also disguise themselves as other types of scams or even as legitimate (but misdirected) messages.
In general, joe jobbing is seen only on messaging systems with weak or no sender authentication, or where most users will assume the purported sender to be the actual one.
Additional steps the victim can take to prevent being harmed by a joe job are to post conspicuous disclaimers on his or her website (if applicable), acquire email filters if he or she does not already have them, and to alert his or her Internet Service Provider about the scam.

Unless the Joe jobber is a business trying to defame a competitor, there is no commercial advantage to Joe jobbing, making it a comparatively uneconomical form of spam.
Joe jobs usually look like normal spam, although they might also disguise themselves as other types of scams or even as legitimate (but misdirected) email.
Joe job victims also risk losing their website due to complaints to their Internet Service Providers, and even increased bandwidth costs (or server overload) due to increased website traffic.

Here is the "Joe job" material I moved to this new "Joe Job" Report from the older Dotcomavenue Report.
"Joe job" is a term used to describe the act of forging bulk email headers so that the email seems to the recipient to to have originated with the victim.
I had never heard of the "Joe job" before having it happen to me. Apparently the first "Joe job" happened to Joe Doll, which is how the "Joe job" came to be named.

Joe Grimm's News Jobs Cafe: Ask the recruiter
Because of how our lives go, people are more flexible about making the moves they might need to make if they have fewer commitments than if they also have to consider a spouse's career, a mortgage, children's schools and their rootedness in a community.
The challenge, then, is to show the editors that you are as journalistically skilled as the competition, that you have just as much potential and that you can make the career moves you'll need to make to develop that potential.
Complicating all of this is the fact that I have a husband and young child, and don't have the flexibility to move out of the Sacramento area.

Joe Grimm's News Jobs Cafe: Ask the recruiter: Interviewing
Most major job fairs are organized by journalism associations as a benefit for the members.
The reason recruiters go to job fairs held by minority journalism organizations is that the newspaper business is way behind the country in minority representation.
Being unable to attend a job fair (if, let's say, there are none in your area or you can't pay the membership or registration fees) and being a white male should not be major impediments.

No humorist is more savage than Joe Queenan, but in recent years he's learned this lesson and taken to making himself the butt of his own humor.
When his job as a self described "hatchet man critic" found him watching the Robert Rodriguez film, El Mariachi, which was notoriously said to have been made for $7000, Joe Queenan decided that he was so sick of hearing these kinds of obviously confabulated stories about independent filmmakers that he would try it himself :
In the end the joke is on Joe Queenan as he learns this valuable lesson--that people don't set out to make crappy movies, they just turn out that way, despite their best intentions--in devastating, but very amusing, fashion.
