Johannes Schultheiss was born in 1703 in Canton Basel, Switzerland, and married Eva Solner or Soldner there in 1730.
Eva died in 1779 and Johannes died in 1788 in Bethania.
Moravian Records state that Johannes and Christina had two sons and a daughter, and that Johann Heinrich and Elizabeth had only two children, but do not specify their gender.

Johann Heinrich Schultz is credited with the discovery that certain silver salts, most notably silver chloride and silver nitrate, darken in the presence of light.
In an experiment conducted in 1724 he determined that a mixture of silver and chalk reflects less light than untarnished silver.

She also names Johanna Elizabeth Schultz, but does not identify her relationship, and we are not certain if this is her niece by that name, daughter of Samuel and Susanna, or a daughter or granddaughter.
We have assumed based on this census record that she is their daughter, but Jacob Schultz and Johanna Vierling had a daughter Martha, named in her grandmother's will, whom we can't find in 1850.
