Johannes Rudbeckius föddes 3 april 1581 i Ormesta by i Almby socken nära Örebro som son till häradsskrivaren Johan Pedersson Rudbeck och Kristina Bose.
Arbetet sköttes nästan helt ensamt av honom och 1618 kunde den tryckas.
Efter Gustav II Adolfs död blev Rudbeckius oense med förmyndarregeringen och blev åtskilliga gånger uppkallad till rådet och fick ta emot skarpa tillrättavisningar av Axel Oxenstierna.

Olaus Rudbeckius, senior or Olof Rudbeck (d.ä.) (1630-1702), Swedish scientist and writer, professor of medicine at Uppsala University and for several periods rector magnificus (headmaster) of the same university.
He was the son of Johannes Rudbeckius and father to Olaus Rudbeckius, junior.
Unfortunately, much of his work was lost in the fire that destroyed most of Uppsala in 1702 (during which Rudbeck himself directed the people of the city, shouting orders from a roof while his house burned down).

However, a Royal Court Parish, consisting of the Royal Family and employees of the Court, was not formed until the beginning of the 1600s under the reign of Vasa's youngest son Karl IX.
