| | Blistering.com Review: Cult Of Luna - Salvation (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21) |
 | | Umeå’s (Sweden) experimental metal act Cult Of Luna have returned with the follow up to their highly acclaimed sophomore effort The Beyond from 2003 (Which followed their self titled debut in 2001), and while the overall identity of the group revealed on their two previous releases remains the same, there’s also some subtle changes too. |
 | | Beginning with gentle keyboards and atmospheric guitar notes, this slow building number gently builds and rises up in heaviness before introducing tribal rhymed drums and a groove that is clearly audible without the unnecessary extras of times past. |
 | | Rydberg’s vocals were always a bit buried under the music in past releases, but for the first time he can be heard clearly, while the multi layered riffing has been stripped back to it’s bare minimum. |
