		Andretti, son of Aldo Andretti (Mario's twin brother) and cousin of team owner/driver Michael Andretti, who will retire from driving after the 400, expressed off-the-record bitterness toward his cousin's choice.
		John made history in 1994 as the first to do both races in the same day, and he historically has run well at the Speedway in eight starts.

		Overall he didn't have a bad year, I really thought they were expecting to win a race in '98 and definately had a shot at the second Martinsville race; however a cut tire spoiled that.
		John captured 3 top 5's, 10 top 10's, and 1 pole at the Primestar 500 in Atlanta.
		John didn't particularly run up front in a lot of races, but stayed around 15th or 20th for a good many races.
