  John Ottman: Biography
John was nominated by the American Cinema Editors and won the British Academy Awards for his editing, as well as a Saturn Award for his score to the film.
John dove into Apt late as film was piling up to the ceiling.  He was faced with a very difficult story to keep interesting editorially.
John then delivered a heart-stopping action score utilizing the full battery of the orchestra, as well as a creative use of electronic phone sounds woven in the score.  The most challenging part of the project was keeping an emotional connection between two characters who are never in the same space.

 The Jack Bull
John Cusack is underestimated as a thespian because of his young face and an undeniable consistency to his characters--young, intelligent, angst-ridden, love-struck males who hesitate over every decision.
John Badham is an infuriating director, the type that makes a great movie every ten years or so, then spends the other nine making crap.
Like the Cusacks, Dick and John, this is Badham's first western and he shows admirable restraint, resisting the camera hot-dogging that many current directors familiar with the action genre cannot (Raimi, Hill).

Never was a film more suspenseful, both in the circumstances of its plot and in the greater drama of Badham’s skill with juggling the complicated metaphors, which accounts for an extended homage to The 39 Steps.
The style is primarily a concomitant of all this, having to maintain an even keel on the wide seas of a variable image, with a particularly abrasive performance by Jason Patric as the painter creating an afterimage of bold independence.
Badham’s layout is extremely interesting (note the “clips” from his author’s film work).

ER | Nick of Time (1996)
John Badham doesn't make films -- he makes "movies." Just like Spielberg (except when he's showboatin' for an Oscar), Tarantino (when he actually steps behind a camera), and Paul Verhoven (whom I have nothing against, I just like plugging SHOWGIRLS).
When the credits roll and they stick "A Film By" in front of their name, they kid themselves that their work is elevated to the level of art, not entertainment.
At least Badham is honest and labels his flicks "A John Badham Movie." He's refreshingly without pretense -- then again, he's also a world class hack.

John Travolta Born on February 18, 1954, in Englewood, New Jersey, of Italian-Irish descent.
Born the youngest of six children to tire salesman and former semiprofessional football player Salvatore Travolta and high school drama teacher Helen Travolta, John was a late-in-life baby, and therefore a miracle according to his Roman Catholic parents: his upbringing was appropriately pampered and permissive.
Not that Travolta doesn't have plenty of work to fill the void: apart from starring roles in Michael, Face/Off, and the upcoming Mad City, he inherited (from Tom Hanks) the role of a U.S. president whose libido runs amok, in Universal's adaptation of Primary Colors, the best-selling satire of Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign.
