JBL became the subject of some controversy, once again, with his stiff shot at the Blue Meanie during the ECW/Anti-ECW brawl at One Night Stand.

John "Bradshaw" Layfield, or "JBL" (born John Charles Layfield on November 29, 1966) is a retired American professional wrestler.
Layfield was trained initially by Brad Rheingans and first started wrestling in the Global Wrestling Federation in Texas in 1992.

Layfield was a competent tag Wrestler, hell, i enjoyed the whole APA gimmick, but I could never have imagined him as the top heel of a wrestling federation, let alone Smackdown (Despite how bad its got in recent months).
I was actually starting to warm towards the whole JBL gimmick...not that I like him, but I wanted him to face Eddie at GAB so Eddie could kick his ass...again.
I like the John Bradshaw Layfield gimick,but I feel he doesn't have the skill when it comes time to wrestle in a main event.

Layfield, in case you haven't heard, did the Nazi salute while goose-stepping around the ring in Germany as part of Smackdown's international tour.
Layfield also made the point that it was a part of his character, saying "It's the same as Vin Diesel playing a Nazi." I agree.
As Layfield has said, "I've been to Dachau, seen those places where they exterminated millions of Jews." He knows the seriousness of what he did with regards to German culture, but he's been doing the same gestures when playing a heel for decades and didn't think anything of it.

Recent reports had confirmed that wrestlers were being won over by John Bradshaw Layfield due to his work ethic, however, it now seems that the opposite is happening and the heat is on him once again.
The consensus from other wrestlers is that JBL's drawing power is beginning to diminish and that he doesn't deserve the spot he has been given.
To make matters worse for JBL, he is continually being associated with Prichard which will not do his popularity any favors either.
