Bryden and others opposed to same-sex marriage and parenthood are simply and purposefully dismissing scientific, judicial and social services precedents that indicate that homosexual singles and same-sex couples, in general, make terrific spouses and parents.

In a July 6 interview with CMN, Mr Bryden stated that the purpose of his amendment was not to attack the Monarchy, but to "Canadianize" the Oath of Citizenship.
Readers who wish to make sure that the Bryden and Shepherd amendments are defeated, and that the proposed new Oath of Citizenship, however imperfect but at least linking the Queen to Canada and citizenship, should write their MP's citing the two amendments, and urging a vote against each.
