His voice work includes the long-running cartoon series (additional info and facts about The Ant and the Aardvark) The Ant and the Aardvark, in which the title characters are voiced by Byner's dead-on impressions of (United States singer (1917-1995)) Dean Martin and (additional info and facts about Jackie Mason) Jackie Mason, respectively.

Watch one episode of John Byner's Bizarre and you'll think that it is a mildly amusing sketch show from the early eighties.
Byner walks out does outdated impressions even for 1980, throw in a sketch showcasing boobies, go to Super Dave skit, pie fight and finally a skit that "doesn't work" that forces that bob guy to come out and stop the sketch right in the middle.
John Byner would be contrite, but as soon as Bob was gone, a horse's ass appeared, inevitable to be called "The Bob".

The key to the movie is in the richness of the characterizations, and the two best characters, I think, are the Horned King (with voice by John Hurt), and a fuzzy little creature named Gurgi (voice by John Byner).
Gurgi is a slavishly devoted little yes-man who gurgles with appreciation for everything done by anyone within earshot who is stronger than he is.
