Byrne, much like in the comics he ruins, is attempting to purge all mentions of his own vile activities on his message board and his substandard writing which has him disrespecting countless writers just to fuel his own narcisistic view of the industry.
Byrne is a public figure, and his controversial statements are one of the things for which he is well known.
John Byrne was born in Walsall, England and his family moved to Canada when he was eight.

John Byrne was born in Belfast, just in time for 'the troubles' He went to art college there before attending the Slade school in London in the mid-eighties.
In 2004 Byrne got a brilliant opportunity from curator Cliodhna Shaffrey to create a public art work for the Dublin developer, Mick Wallce, well known for his anti war stance and also for his love of all things Italian.

It was there that I began to practice as a 'performance artist' (though I've never been overly excited by the label).
This apparent obsession with the Irish Border culminated in my ‘Border Interpretative Centre’ (2000), a visitor centre and souvenir shop right on the border.
