White Beer Travels is a site brewed up by Speciality Beer fan, John White (1945-), an Englishman who has organised and run Beer Hunts in Europe, the United States, and beyond, since 1993, when a group of White Beer Travels Beer Hunters went in search of Belgian Beer for the first time.
This is John White's "White Beer Travels" website, which is dedicated to "The Beer Hunter", "The Maven of Malt", Michael Jackson (1942-), whose classic books got John into drinking and loving Speciality/Craft Beer.

No copy of the articles of incorporation is known to exist, but other documents clearly indicate that the city was to be governed by Governor John White and twelve assistants.
White as Governor was in command on land, but Fernandez as Admiral of the fleet enjoyed the loyalty of the sailors and "de facto" command at sea; thus the latter prevailed even in direct opposition to White's wishes and Ralegh's instructions.
Within four months White had the ships ready to sail, but because of the imminent Spanish attack they were not allowed to do so.

The next year, however, John White returned to Roanoke Island.

It should be noted that, while the state of Tennessee accepts John White as the person after whom White County was named, some genealogists have asserted that the county was actually named after James White, the founder of Knoxville.
John had to fight the Cherokee Indians for the right to live on the land, for the Cherokee were not confined to the Cumberland Plateau until the 2nd Treaty of Holston in 1791.
White County is in Middle Tennessee, in the Cumberland Mountains, midway between Nashville and Knoxville, and covers an area of 377 square miles.

History has shown, of course, that White's judgment regarding the future of the colony was incorrect; but his observation about Sydney Harbour, that it was the "finest and most extensive harbour in the universe", has stood the test of time.
