 John Diamond
Diamond, who was born in East London, was the son of a biochemist and a designer and was the youngest of three brothers.
His forthright, sometimes humorous insights increased the public’s admiration for Diamond and for his writing, and their letters made him realize he was not alone in feeling isolated by those who couldn’t deal with his illness or simply didn’t know how to.
That same year, Diamond was featured in a BBC documentary called “Tongue Tied,” which followed the writer through his surgeries, radiation and recovery.

In Facets of a Diamond, however, Dr. Diamond draws together all the aspects of his life and the experiences that make him the therapist that he is. But, more than being just an auto-biography, this book introduces us to the possibility that we are all therapists, whatever our profession or station in life.
I think that this is one of the most remarkable traits of Dr. Diamond's writing: that, instead of claiming to have found the one true path to enlightenment, he presents his own ideas and thought in such a way as to be a springboard for the reader's.
Diamond elucidates these ideas with anecdotes from his lengthy and varied career in a way that gives fresh and true credibility to concepts that have otherwise become rather trite in our day-to-day world.

C is his "attempt to write the book I was looking for the night I got the bad news."
