		John Duigan was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry in action during WW1.
		Duigan's application for the Commonwealth prize was rejected because he missed the close of entries in March 1910.
		John Duigan and his younger brother Reginald had spent nearly a year building his aircraft, which was made from wood, wire taken from an old piano, and steel bands usually used for baling wool.

		One of the "new wave" of Australian filmmakers, Duigan has turned out a number of diverse, interesting films, many of them dealing with the pains of young adulthood.
		He is probably best known for the charming, award-winning films The Year My Voice Broke (1987) and Flirting (1990), two parts of a proposed trilogy which has so far followed young Danny Embling from lovesick adolescence in the early 1960s through life at a boarding school in 1965 and his relationship with a Ugandan girl.
		Duigan has directed one American film, Romero (1989), with Raul Julia as El Salvador's Archbishop Oscar Romero, and most recently directed and cowrote the erotic Wide Sargasso Sea (1993) and directed and wrote Sirens (1994).

	Resurrected! John Duigan’s “Flirting” Quotes Site
		Yes, its another one of those coming-of-age movies that I love (if you’ve seen some of my other sites you know what I mean).
		“Flirting” is actually a sequel to John Duigan’s “The Year My Voice Broke.” Personally, I found “Flirting” to be much more savvy and funny than John Duigan’s first attempt at depicting anti-hero Danny Embling.
		My advice, see both and decide for yourself.
