I hope no-one will suspect bias but I would say mr "Nobody's Perfect" himself John Eales, but I do think his record as captain was not as good as his record at lock which was second to none, I repeat second to none.
Eales may or may not be the best captain ever but that was a display of incredible mental toughness.
john eales and martin johnson are, for me, the 2 greatest modern day captains.
