LAS VEGAS (AP) — Sen. John Ensign was injured in a car crash and taken to a hospital Monday after another driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit the senator's car head-on, police said.
Ensign spokesman Jack Finn said the senator and aide had minor bumps and bruises, and he expected Ensign to be released later in the day.
Ensign was elected to the Senate in 2000 and faces re-election in November.
