The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is the NASA space vehicle launch facility at Cape Canaveral on Merritt Island[?] in Florida, United States.
It was renamed the John F. Kennedy Space Center in December 1963, after the recently assassinated president John F. Kennedy.
KSC was also the launch site for the Space Shuttle, reusing the Complex 39 Apollo infrastructure, as well as the landing site, with a 4.6 km runway built as the Shuttle Landing Facility.
