  Baron Clwyd - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Baron Clwyd, of Abergele in the County of Denbigh, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.
It was created in 1919 for the Liberal politician John Herbert Roberts, who had previously represented Denbighshire West in the House of Commons.
Lord Clwyd's father John Roberts had earlier been a Member of Parliament for Flint from 1878 to 1892.

 Townshends of the Trevallyns by Lewis H Hughes
TOWNSHEND, AURELIAN (flourished 1601 - 1643), poet, was son of John Townshend of Dereham Abbey, Norfolk, and great-grandson of Sir Roger Townshend of Raynham.
Robert had served on the Royalist side against Cromwell under the Earl of Holland, and his land was confiscated.
Robert’s main goal, as with all wealthy landowners, was to preserve the family wealth, through the eldest surviving son.

VG Excellent detailed history of these important colliery railways around Brampton, East of Carlisle which originated from early tramroads and were finally operated by the NCB.
