Kenneth and Janet married at Broadford, Skye in Scotland on the 29th November 1832.
John also worked on the Chirnside's Werribee Estate until about five years later when he went to work for his father who had taken up land at the You Yangs.

Kenneth Nance was a comedian - that is what I remember most - He made me laugh the first time he spoke to me - we were friends ever since.
The first time John and I went snow skiing with Ken, he picked it up as well as anyone I have ever seen.
He told me recently that John and I forced him to not be shy because of all of the activities we were involved in.

John Corson was the young Assistant Executive Director and Altmeyer put him in charge of the Bureau of Old Age and Survivors Insurance, and he did a great job, and was just what the organization needed to get started on the right track.
For example, Leona McKinnon who at first was the second secretary in his office-she was like the second employee of the Social Security Administration, along with Wilbur, and through a series of promotions she ends up as the Secretary to the Board.
He wrote this little book that was not quite finished when he died and the autobiography was published posthumously and it was edited by John Kenneth Galbraith, who brought it out and wrote a preface to it and apparently edited the fragments of the manuscript.

The Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, an umbrella group of financial literacy advocates that includes AFSA, is one of many organizations working to reverse this trend.
Last year, Jumpstart approached Kenneth McKinnon, an economics teacher at Springville Griffith Institute High School, south of Buffalo, N.Y., with an interactive Internet program, MoneySKILL, to help teach financial literacy.
McKinnon said the program allowed him “to add an extensive personal finance component to my class and still teach an economics class that focuses on the essentials of our economy.” He requires more than 90 students to complete independently the 46-lesson program but only grades students on their top eight scores.
