In 1975, however, Lennon retreated entirely from public view, and it was not until the release of his final album, Double Fantasy (1980), created with Ono, that he reemerged.

Lennon's songs are also often the more lyrical, due to his love of word play, double meaning, and strange words.
Lennon rebounded in 1973 with Mind Games, which featured a strong title tune and some vague mumblings about a concept called "Nutopia." His most striking song of that year was the wry "I'm the Greatest," which he wrote for Ringo Starr's very successful Ringo album.
Lennon's reply is reported to have been "Yeah", or "I'm John Lennon of the Beatles", or simply a nod of the head before he passed out.

John Lennon was celebrated for the ornate and avant-garde adornments he brought to the Beatles, but he also at times responded to a powerful impulse to strip his music to its raw essence.
Indeed, Lennon would have flourished in the unplugged era, when the nakedness of his best lyrics and the cutting directness of his astonishing voice would have been in the fore.
Lennon was often at his best when his music was stripped down to the bare essentials.

George was sufficiently inspired by the group's success to drop out of the Liverpool Institute to pursue his rock-and-roll dream more earnestly, working as an electrician's apprentice to pay his living expenses (he soon quit because he kept blowing things up).
George had always been frustrated in the songwriting department by the prolific Lennon and McCartney (though Harrison did contribute such hits as "Something," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and "Here Comes the Sun," among others), and the end of the Beatles sparked in him something of a musical rebirth.
As the youngest member of the Beatles, Harrison was constantly overshadowed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
