		John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (October 9, 1940 – December 8, 1980) was an iconic English 20th century composer and singer of popular music, best known as the founding member of The Beatles, in which he and Paul McCartney formed the massively successful songwriting partnership Lennon-McCartney throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.
		John Lennon was born John Winston Lennon in Liverpool.
		The 25th anniversary of John Lennon's death on December 8, 2005, was a particularly emotional milestone for Beatles and Lennon fans.
