  Mr. John Madden Biography
Madden was appointed in January 2007 as the Director of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for the State of Alaska.
He was instrumental in the planning and execution of the Alaska Shield/Northern Edge 2005 exercise, the largest homeland security exercise in the state’s history.
Madden began his public service career when he enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after high school at the age of seventeen.

John Madden began serving as a volunteer at Maryville in 1961 and has been on the Board of Directors since 1970, serving as Chairman of the Board for 30 years.
Madden also serves as Chairman of the Board of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, a member of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Charities Board of Directors, and as a long time member and Chairman of Ballarmine Jesuit Retreat House Board.
