John Miller was a keen observer of the late seventeenth century New York scene - describing and reflecting on what he saw in what became a considerable collection of notes and drawings.
Miller was incarcerated and used the time to re-write and further develop his accounts of his New York experience.
Serving the remainder of his life as the vicar of Effingham, Miller was called a "worthy and respectable vicar" and "a man of research." On his death in 1724, an inventory of his estate revealed an extensive library - with many of the volumes annotated by Miller, as well as a number of original manuscripts.

Miller, who graduated from WandL in 1977 and studied at its law school, will teach two courses in the journalism department: "Race, Gender and the Media" and "Introduction to Reporting." The former is a new course for the department and will be open to students from all majors.
Miller's professorship is made possible by a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, a national philanthropic organization founded in 1954 by the late media entrepreneur for whom it is named.

It is not clear if this was Martin Miller of Halifax County who was probably quite familiar with the area, or if it may have been another Martin Miller who resided in Montgomery and Wythe Counties in southwest Virginia during that period.
Martin Miller, Jr., may also be the same as Martin Miller (born June 9,1779) who appeared in late 1803 in Laurens County, South Carolina very near to Jacob Miller, Sr., brother of Martin Miller of Halifax County.
It is possible that this parcel of land may have contained Miller's Ferry, which was located on Dan River, and believed to have been operated by either John Frederick Miller or possibly someone in his family; perhaps by Martin Miller during the latter period of the ferry's existence.

I consider Zell Miller's "bipartisanship" at the Republican National Convention a slap to the face, if he actually believes undecided independents are supposed to watch his speech, compare his record, and believe for one second that the GOP has suddenly become a "big tent" large enough to fit liberals or libertarians.
Miller certainly recognizes that he is more important as a Democrat supporting a Republican, than as a Republican supporting Republicans.
Miller has voted Dem in every pres election and he gae a key note speach at Clinton's convention...He still votes Dem, he just doesn't like Kerry.
