 | | Hopes of saving albatross now rest with UN Sailor and albatross campaigner John Ridgway, who spent a 327-day voyage hunting pirate boats in the Southern Ocean, presented a 105,000-name petition to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in support of the worldwide save the albatross campaign. |
 | | Joined by the RSPB's Dr Euan Dunn, John Ridgway spoke at the FAO meeting, calling on all countries to follow the example of Chile, which has 100% satellite coverage of its offshore fleet and a national action plan for tackling pirate fishing. |
 | | John was clear and straightforward: 'I recommend you borrow the national action plan of Chile, shut yourselves up in a room for 24 hours, and finish your own plan. |
