John Sterling (born July 4, 1948) is an American sportscaster and the radio voice of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees.
Sterling played basketball in high school, where by his own later description he was a shooting guard who liked to shoot.
Sterling also hosted a sports talk radio show on WMCA in New York for much of the 1970s, where he was one of the early adopters of the aggressive broadcasting style that would also influence traditional talk radio hosts as well.

But as far as Sterling is concerned, I think of what Jerry Seinfeld once told Elaine when she asked if there might be more to his arch-rival, Newman.

I don't believe its looked upon too well when a sportscaster says flat out "I am a fan of ____ and not ____", although most of them are biased enough to be transparent in their allegiances.
I've met Bruce Wolf off the air when I used to work at this store in Deerfield when I was in college and, at least in my experience, he was very quiet and nice, not obnoxious like on TV.
He may not be the city's best sportscaster, but he's pretty quick to rip on the Cubs, so he gets a thumbs up in my book.
