John Walter advanced in the Army rather quickly to the rank of Major in "K" Co. GA 1st Cavalry.
John Walter was quite an accomplished musician and took his violin to War with him.

During the 1620's John "Cannon" and William Tench seemed to have aligned themselves with John Billington of the Colony in a political controversy on how the Colony was to be governed.
In 1624, John Billington the Elder was implicated in the Oldham-Lyford scandal, in which blasphemous letters were secretly being written and sent to England trying to undermine the Plymouth Colony.
In 1630, John Billington the Elder was tried and executed for the murder of John Newcomen, whom Billington had shot with a musket in a quarrel over a past dispute between the two.

 Tench Tilghman - History Celebrities
Tench Tilghman was born on Christmas day, 1744 at "Fausley," the plantation owned by his father, James Tilghman, located on Fausley Creek, a branch of the St. Michaels River, in Talbot County, a few miles from the town of Easton.
Tench Francis married the daughter of Foster Turbutt, of Ottwell, also of Talbot County Maryland, and went on to become the clerk of the court and deputy commissioner for Talbot County.
Tench Tilghman’s sword that he wore at Valley Forge,Yorktown and when delivering the news to Congress, as well as the sword presented in his honor by Congress, are today on display in the State House in Annapolis.

A later document mentions the same seven children, plus the heirs of Catharine Gardner: Francis, John, Caroline wife of John Hummel, and Sarah Alice wife of John Harpeter.
However, his friend Thomas Kemerer, who was named Executor, refers to him as Abraham “Arner” in all of the documents that were later filed to settle this estate.
Gardner, born about 1846;  married 20 April 1864 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania to John P. Hummel who was born about 1832 in Pennsylvania.
