John Trudell, the archetype warrior-poet has just released his fourth CD entitled Bone Days, which offers a jarring, steely, glimpse at the gritty underbelly of the world through his sometimes cynical eyes.
Trudell's songs, which he refers to as his art, are an extension of his words and the process he goes through with writing starts with the concept of the album.
Trudell and his band Bad Dogs will be touring Bone Days in Italy and France in mid-July for a few weeks and will return to begin work on his next release which he hopes to have out sometime in 2003.

John Trudell earned most of his voluminous record as a leading activist for Native American rights in the tumultuous 1970s, when the federal government was attempting to squelch the movement's newfound passion and power.
Trudell believes the fire was deliberately set (he says strangers had warned him on at least two occasions that his family was in danger if he didn't give up his political activity).
Trudell has appeared in eight films so far, including "Thunderheart" and "Smoke Signals." He is currently filming a mini-series for ABC's Hallmark Hall of Fame based on the myths and stories of native peoples.

Born and raised on the Santee Sioux Reservation, on the border of Nebraska and South Dakota, Native-American poet and activist John Trudell spent the majority of the 1970s as the national chairman of the American Indian Movement (AIM).
Trudell left Native-American politics in 1979 after his wife, mother-in-law, and three children were killed in a fire at their home on a reservation in Nevada.
Trudell's musical career was put on hold two years later, following Davis' death from a drug overdose, before teaming with guitarist Mark Shark to record another cassette of rock & roll and poetry, Tribal Voice (Beautiful Fables and Other Realities).

Bob Dylan, who said way back in 1992 that Trudell's CD "AKA Grafitti Man" was the best album of the year.
Trudell's music is a highly potent mixture of insight, reflection, and beauty of sound of "roots music" in its best sense.
