Like Fremont, Wallingford's boundaries are not fixed, but they may be thought of as Stone Way N. to the west, beyond which is Fremont; Lake Union to the south; Interstate 5 to the east, beyond which is the University District; and Woodland Park and N.E. 60th Street to the north, beyond which is Green Lake.
Wallingford is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, Washington, named after John Noble Wallingford (died 1913).

Wallingford was established on October 10, 1667, when the Connecticut General Assembly authorized the "making of a village on the east river" to 38 planters and freemen.
Wallingford is home to the Choate Rosemary Hall school (which graduated John F. Kennedy, John Dos Passos, Glenn Close, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Douglas, and Adlai Stevenson), as well as two public high schools (Sheehan and Lyman Hall), two public middle schools, 8 elementary schools, and a parochial school.
In the 1800s, Wallingford was known for its pewterware and silver industries, which were later merged into the International Silver Company with its headquarters in Meriden, Connecticut.

Kennedy cut a message on a coconut that read "11 alive native knows posit and reef Nauru Island Kennedy." He purportedly handed the coconut to one of the natives and said, "Rendova, Rendova!," indicating that the coconut should be taken to the PT base on Rendova.
