John Lennon 4   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
John is a kind of living container for the collective psyche of family members, expressing their combined values and feelings through his own actions and emotional responses.
John's vibrant curiosity about life and people should never be stifled by inverse snobbery ("Our family are working class, not intellectuals, so don't put on any airs") or covert envy ("We didn't have the money or time for that sort of thing, and what was good enough for us is good enough for you").
John is so highly attuned to the needs of others, and so needful himself of a feeling of belonging, that as he grows up he runs the risk of developing a veneer of perpetual pleasantness which masks some very intense albeit unconscious feelings of anger, resentment and rebelliousness.

John F. Kerry of Massachusetts and John Edwards of North Carolina have moved away from past positions and joined Rep. Richard A. Gephardt of Missouri, a longtime critic of free trade, in resisting efforts to lower trade barriers with Mexico and other nations in South America and Asia.
Senator John Edwards also had a pretty good afternoon, using his boyhood family as an example of the kinds of people who would be hurt if all the Bush tax cuts are reversed.
John F. Kerry, scrambling to thwart rival Howard Dean's momentum, showed a new, more aggressive style, repeatedly attacking the former Vermont governor for advocating a repeal of the Bush tax cuts and a retreat from trade.

The Constant Gardener (John Le Carre) - book review
In The Constant Gardener Le Carré offers a typically compelling account of a man on the run, chased by his "own" side (Intelligence and the Foreign Office) as well as by the bad guys (thugs working for a pharmaceutical company).
The Constant Gardener is not, however, as taut as it could be, or as gripping.
And while the ending of The Constant Gardener is dark in trademark Le Carré style, it has an unusually positive twist, ending with with a hopeful defeat rather than a tainted victory, and with a call to political action.

John Wesley, Sermon 101: The Duty of Constant Communion
Whoever, therefore, does not receive, but goes from the holy table, when all things are prepared, either does not understand his duty, or does not care for the dying command of his Saviour, the forgiveness of his sins, the strengthening of his soul, and the refreshing it with the hope of glory.
A Second objection which is often made against constant communion, is, the having so much business as will not allow time for such a preparation as is necessary thereto.

 Re: constant camber
In constant camber construction you create a piece of curved plywood with which you create the hull.
The plywood is laminated together with diagonal layers of precut strips of wood.
The advantage of keeping the "camber" constant is once you find the right shape for the strips of wood, you can use the same shape for all the strips instead of "spiling" each strip to fit together with the previous strips.

The Stories of John Cheever, Constant Reader Discussion
One message I get from both his writing and John Updike's is that people with money, power, or position may look like an idyllic life from the outside--the summer homes, the country club galas--but at the core they're just as troubled and hurting as the rest of us, sometimes more so.
John Cheever has the story credit, and the screenplay is by Eleanor Perry.
