  Comic creator: Johnny Hart
Hart is best known for his comic strip 'B.C.', about life in the stone age which started its run in newspapers on 17 February, 1958.
In 1960, Hart developed a new strip idea, which he worked out together with the cartoonist Brant Parker: 'The Wizard of Id', a strip about a forsaken kingdom ruled by a cruel and nasty king who was flanked by his knight, Brandolph and the Wizard.
Johnny Hart was an author who mixes dazzling humor and hilarious originality.

All of it was thanks to cartoonist Johnny Hart, who died Saturday at age 76 while working at his home in the nearby hamlet of Nineveh.
Hart's "B.C." strip was launched in 1958 and eventually appeared in more than 1,300 newspapers with an audience of 100 million, according to Creators Syndicate Inc., which distributes it.
Hart won numerous awards for his work, including the National Cartoonist Society's prestigious Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year and an award from the International Congress of Comics.

Hart's tendency to tell interviewers that Jews are condemned to rot in Hell for all eternity, I doubt it was intended as innocently as claimed in his "I regret if some people misunderstood the strip" press release.

Hart and not me. I wrote a few of these folks to ask which of the many offensive, not funny things I've done had prompted their reaction, but none of them replied.
Hart's religious bigotry in the past but it took until he libelled my profession that I was finally motivated to write to him.
No harm done but I can't help but think that Johnny Hart is lucky he writes a comic strip and not a TV show.

Hart suffered a stroke while working at his storyboard, died working on his labor of love; that's the way I want to go.
Hart's comics were part of my normal life for so long that it's hard to realize how original and good he was.
