In 1972, Johnny returned to recording in Jamaica at Harry J.'s studio where he met Bob Marley, who wrote Nash's next hit, "Stir It Up", which revived his career by peaking at number 13 on the UK chart.

Nash won a scholarship in the George Westinghouse Competition and was accepted by the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University) which he entered in June 1945 with the intention of taking a degree in chemical engineering.

I like most of Johnny's output on ABC-Paramount, but they may be a little too much on the easy-listening side for some tastes.

Johnny Nash had a slew of hits during the 1970s with his reggae ditties that often made the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic.
The melodies are really gripping and most of the songs have a type of hypnotic effect on the listener.
Nash’s sound reminds me a bit of Desmond Dekker, although it is more slick and polished and about as far away from roots reggae as you can get, barring Boney M’s reggae excursions.
