The program was the creation of host Johnny Young, and over the years it ran it gave many young performers their first taste of fame.
Johnny Young was accused of many things throughout the run of the show, including being homosexual and having pedophillic tendencies toward the kids on the show.
Young Talent Time could not even hope to compete with it, and the show was abruptly cancelled in January, 1989.

i've seen a lot of opinions on johnny as a boy, and how pelafina's letters are far too advanced for johnny.
i believe that johnny was truly a genius in his own right...and from an early age.
Though I am beginning to buy into the idea that Zampano created him b/c he wanted a son, and even if that is the case I'm sure Z would have created his son as a genius as any parent would if they had the choice.
