Admissions staff are expected to use professional judgement in assessing the academic potential of individual candidates, taking a number of factors into consideration, including educational and social context.
For 2004 entry, educational disadvantage in the English system is defined as current attendance at a school or college where, in either of the previous two years, the average UCAS tariff is 265 or less under the new scheme, or 18 points or less under the previous scheme.
The University reserves the right to exclude a candidate who is considered on justifiable grounds to be unsuitable for a place on a particular course or for attendance at the University in general.
