Jon Corzine (born January 1, 1947) is the current Democratic Governor of the state of New Jersey.
Corzine's personal life came to the forefront in August during the 2005 campaign when it was revealed that he forgave a $470,000 personal loan to a former girlfriend, Carla Katz, the head of Communications Workers of America Local 1034, a large state employee union.
Corzine was elected to the Senate by a narrow margin over his Republican opponent Bob Franks in November 2000 and was sworn into the Senate in January 2001.
