Jon Gerrard, PC, MLA, MD, Ph.D, BA (born October 13, 1947 in Birmingham, England) is a politician in Manitoba, Canada.
In the 1993 federal election, Gerrard was elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Liberal in the Manitoba riding of Portage-Interlake.
Gerrard was called upon to stand for the leadership of the Manitoba Liberal Party in 1998, at a time when the party's internal unity was deteriorating.

The party was only reunited when Hasselfield resigned in 1998, replaced by former federal Member of Parliament (MP) Jon Gerrard.
Gerrard became the party's only MLA, winning election in the upscale riding of River Heights.

The data that Dr. Gerrard acquired revealed there was a 4.4% mortality rate among 1,032 Manitobans who underwent cardiac procedures last year (in the year ending March 31).
Between 1995 and 1999, Dr. Gerrard reported, the provincial mortality rate for cardiac patients was 3.46%, a figure that increased to 4.06% in 2000.
Dr. Gerrard attributed the decline in cardiac surgery mortality rates elsewhere to the public reporting of numbers.

Prior to his election, Dr. Gerrard was head of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg and a professor with the University of Manitoba's medicine faculty.
In 1993, Dr. Gerrard was honoured with a Teddy Award from the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg Research Foundation (presented annually to honour an outstanding contribution by a Manitoba researcher in pediatric medical research), and in 1995, he received a Medical Research Council Scientist award.

Saturday, August 3, 2002 - Liberal Leader Jon Gerrard is accusing the NDP government of moving too slowly to secure money from Ottawa to expand the Winnipeg floodway.
Even though thus far he is the only member of the all-party committee on flood protection who hasn't agreed that expanding the floodway is the best option, Gerrard said this week he's worried Manitoba is going to miss getting a piece of the $2-billion infrastructure funding pie Ottawa promised in its last budget.
Gerrard said there isn't even a proposal on the table for the all-party committee to approve.

While the government will pay to send people with epilepsy out of province for treatment, she said there are long waiting lists and the patients still have to cover the costs of food, lodging and travelling companions.
