		In 1964, Lord played on the Kinks' eponymous debut LP (retitled You Really Got Me for American consumption); around the same time, his group the Artwoods released their first single "Sweet Mary," issuing several more singles prior to the 1966 full-length Art Gallery.
		In 1974, Lord cut the solo album Gemini Suite, based on a concerto he'd written for the BBC four years earlier; Sarabande followed in 1975, and in the wake of Deep Purple's demise he joined Coverdale's new band, Whitesnake.
		Lord's next solo album, Before I Forget, appeared in 1982; two years later, he reunited with Gillan, Blackmore, Glover, and Paice to re-form Deep Purple, issuing the album Perfect Strangers.

		Lord's first three solo albums were released whilst still a member of DEEP PURPLE and formed the side project, ASHTON LORD, in 1976 with ex-FAMILY vocalist TONY ASHTON.
		Having found himself within the ranks of WHITESNAKE in the late 70s and early 80s, Lord recorded the 1982's solo album 'Before I Forget' whilst taking a break from the group and featured session drummer Simon Phillips and WHITESNAKE drummer Ian Paice.

		Looking at the tracklist of Jon Lords new solo album "Pictured Within", the track "Wait A While" could have been a song describing the release procedure of this album, as the release has been delayed several times -- but finally the album has emerged to face the public.
		I have most Jon Lord works in my collection and I'm not sure exactly what I expected when I first put the tape into my recorder, but even still "Pictured Within" was totally different from all my expectations.

		Peter Mew did a good job remastering the albums and some of the bonus tracks are nice suprises, as well as nicely prepared booklets (of course with the addition of lyrics and original cover artwork).
		Due to unknown reasons I’ve lost entire solo discography section… It’shard to rebuilt it in details and it took a lot of time to prepare the first version.
