 George R.R. Martin
Before “A Song Of Ice And Fire”, Martin was primarily known as a short-story writer, producing dozens of stories of a consistently high quality.
Until “A Song Of Ice And Fire”, Martin was best known for his science fiction short stories, many of which are set in the same universe.
Even in its current, unfinished, state “A Song Of Ice And Fire” is a very impressive, superbly written, work of fantasy that stands as one of the best pieces of work in its genre.

VEry nice pic.I like his hair a lot.Actually I never thought of Jon Snow as a delicate handsome boy.In my eyes this pic looks more like Geoffrey Lannister than Jon.Any way it is very good and I hope u would make more pics inspired by George MArtin!keep up the good work!

Jon Snow is the child of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lady Lyanna Stark.
When Lyanna is dying she makes Eddard promise her that she will conceal Jon's identity and raise him as his bastard.
I think that Tyrion will be the one to figure it out (he knew Jon, he's going to get to know Dani, and he's very clever in his own right).

RPGnet Forums - [Song of Ice and Fire] Jon Snow...
(+) Ned seems to not think of Jon as his own son at a few instances - when he tells Cat that Jon is 'his blood'[AGOT 65], and later in the godswood, when he reflects on Cersei and her crimes [AGOT 486].
A promise regarding Jon, however, is something he must 'fulfill' every day - he has to lie to everyone: Robert, his wife, Jon himself...this ties nicely in with the heavy price he supposedly paid, as well.
Another possibility is that Rhaegar acted the way he did because of a prophecy, and convinced Lyanna about his intentions, and made her go along with his plan (of begetting her with a child).

I read Song of Ice and Fire because it was better than the overwhelming majority of the genre; I guess some fantasy fans have such low standards that a merely competent conclusion to the series would be something worth reading.
Jon Snow is fascinating, but Brand's transformation to a warg is ho-hum.
If you want to talk about writing, you apparently say, "Oh, it can't be rushed, it's an art," and then fire shots at somebody who has sold stuff professionally.

It was the bastard Jon Snow who had taken that from him, him and his fat friend Sam Tarly.
Those two fantasy greats are also evoked by Martin's ability to convey such sensual experiences as the heat of wildfire, the chill of ice, the smell of the sea and the sheer gargantuan indigestibility of the medieval banquet at its most excessive.
He was the clever one; he'd been steward to old Maester Aemon for four good years before that bastard Jon Snow had done him out so his job could be handed to his fat pig of a friend.

The funny thing, to me, is how Celtavian descirbed Jon Snow as the only real likable character, and then proceeded to list at least four other characters he really liked.

Now I think that she either died giving birth to Jon and the flashback took place shortly after Jon was delivered, or that she was wounded in the war.
Well, when I first read that I thought that Rhaegar had killed her or something and in the context he remembered in, I thought it was a hint of some dark deed Robert had committed.

The latest, A Feast for Crows (Song of Ice and Fire, Book 4), is now more than three years overdue.

A Clash of Kings -- book review
What makes "A Song of Ice and Fire" so compelling in part is the author's refusal to shy away from the distasteful and brutal realities of the world he has created, a world that in many ways closely resembles our Europe of the Middle Ages.
George R.R. Martin lit a flame under the widening seat of the fantasy genre with the publication of the first book in "A Song of Ice and Fire,"

But The Song of Ice and Fire is da series right now.
01-10-2002, 12:57 PM A Song of Fire and Ice is a fine and fun series with great characters.
So I'm pleased with myself for this little bit of insight: Jon Snow, whom at first we think is Eddard Stark's bastard by some unknown southern noblewoman, is really his dead sister Lyanna's child by way of Raedgar Targaryen.

A Feast for Crows (Song of Ice and Fire, book 4) by George R R Martin
Continuing the most ambitious and imaginative epic fantasy since The Lord of the Rings The action in Book Four of A Song of Ice and Fire begins the day after the end of A STORM OF SWORDS.
And Jon Snow is the nine-hundredth-and-ninety-eighth lord commander of the Night's Watch.
While the remaining northern lords war endlessly with each other and the ironmen of the isles attack the Dreadfort, Sansa becomes a skilled player in the game of thrones with Littlefinger as her mentor, Arya a skilled assassin, and Bran a magician and shapeshifter of great power.

Book Reviews - A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
A Song of Ice and Fire is a great series that I have come to enjoy.
Jon and Daenerys are by far two of the best chapters in the books.
Secondly I wanted Catelyn and Jon to meet later on when Jon holds a higher place in society just to see her reaction to him since she holds so much hatred towards him.
