Mina Harker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wilhelmina "Mina" Harker is a fictional character of Bram Stoker's seminal horror novel Dracula.
At the beginning of the story, she is referred to by her maiden name, Mina Murray, but later in the book she marries her fiancee Jonathan Harker, and takes on his last name.
The book closes with a note about Mina's and Jonathan's married life and the birth of their first-born son, whom they name Quincey in remembrance of their American friend Quincey Morris, who was killed by Dracula during the final confrontation.

Dracula - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The story begins with Jonathan Harker, a newly-qualified English solicitor, being invited to the Count's crumbling, remote castle (situated in the Carpathian Mountains, on the border of Transylvania and Moldavia), to provide legal support for a real estate transaction on behalf of Harker's employer in London.
Throughout, there are various references to changing gender roles; Mina Harker is a thoroughly modern woman, as she uses (then) modern technologies such as the typewriter, but she still embodies a traditional gender role as an assistant school mistress.
Mina Harker is a member of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a pastiche comic book, and film featuring numerous Victorian characters.(Her portrayal in the film of the same name is markedly different from the character in the comic.

Jonathan Harker blinked when he got out of his carriage and saw the home of his client.
Of course, the last time Jonathan visited a client who lived in a castle, his wife’s friend had a stake hammered into her heart by her fiancé, he had to break into his clients house and soak everything with water (he was still paying the damages), and the client in question wound up cremated.
Jonathan walked into what he assumed to be a dinning hall and took the seat Igor walked him to.

First brought to the castle to finalize a real-estate transaction, and to tutor the Count in English language and manners, he soon becomes a prisoner, both of the Count and of the supernatural landscape both inside and outside of the Castle.
Harker is little more than a vehicle to transport him to a larger, more nourishing world.
In all his little movements, from simple hand gestures to a brilliant walk down a vertical wall (done with a slash of light across the floor) his physicality is as important to his characterization as his words and expressions.
