Jordan Lake is a man-made lake and reservoir in central North Carolina within the New Hope River Valley, lying mainly within northeastern Chatham County.
In 1973, the project was renamed to "Jordan Lake" in honor of B.
The Jordan Lake Dam (known also as the B. Everett Jordan Project and the New Hope Dam) is located along the Haw River in the upper Cape Fear River basin, 4 miles (6 km) above the mouth of the Haw River.

Pittsboro, N.C. – At last the eagle that came to Piedmont Wildlife Center on June 6th, having been rescued from Jordan Lake as it struggled with a large catfish, is ready for release.
A fisherman on the lake observed the bird struggling in the water and called for help.
It was given medication for swelling and pain, and forced fed on a diet of fish and rats until it was put into a large flight cage to strengthen its powerful flight muscles prior to returning home to Jordan Lake in Chatham County.
