The only time the Jordanella floridae shows belligerence, above that of a molly, is during courtship and when guarding eggs.
The origin, unique shape, and bright colors should qualify the Jordanella floridae as the signature fish in the AKA logo, rather than some non-native that is rarely kept by most modern killifish aquarists.

I populated one tank with four American Flag fish (Jordanella Floridae) ranging in maturity from small juvenile to full adult and one with three female adult swordtails (the venerable Xiphophorus helleri).
The recent talk on Florida flagfish for hair algae herbivory has not convinced me that they are good at it.
I've never known a *Jordanella floridae* to bother plants until starved for veggies, with one exception.

This summer I put a pair of Jordanella floridae out in a 60 gallon water lily pool.
I caught another dozen or so nice, healthy and plump Jordanella floridae juveniles.
The water temperature is about 45 degrees F. I am sure there may be more floridae in the pool.

I have kept and bred them in low-salinity tap water, but a stressed fish often likes some salt added to the water (1T/5G).
*floridae* can take very brackish water, so it won't hurt.

They are not laid on the bottom directly, but on plants or algae near the bottom of the tank.
The first year I placed Jordanella outdoors, I ended up with about 15 young and the original 6 fish I placed into the pond.

They are such a nice native fish you would think they would be more popular.
I have been slowly selling a large group a friend of mine sent me from Florida.
I had 3 pairs in a 30 gallon and the males did start chasing each other around so I split everyone up, gave them there own tank or put them in with other peaceful fish.

Just wondering my pair have just given me thirty eggs today.Wondering how long will it take for the eggs to hatch and are they the same to raise as like australes and other killies just fed Bbs ?
