Jordon fondly recalls vomit-inducing battles with Corey (not to mention bare-fisted encounters with some prickly jellyfish) during these adventures.

 Blinker The Star Biography
Jordon joined the group and was a perfect spoke in the Tinker wheel, adding a sonic guitar splash that the Montreal music scene had not seen on the Main since Apollo 5 was carted through the streets at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1977.
The album, a mixture of fun and loud, was mostly self-recorded in Jordon’s basement in the cozy confines of his hometown of Pembroke, Ontario.
Jordon had by this time begun to develop a love for the finer points of studio craft and production, and focused his energies likewise.

 NOW: Love connection, Apr 24 - 30, 2003
Zadorozny took off for la-la-land several years later, where -- after a stint co-writing with no less a psycho icon than Courtney Love -- he went through the sadly now-clichéd roller coaster of being scooped up and dropped by a major label -- in this case DreamWorks.
In fact, Zadorozny sounds so laid-back and charming on the line from Montreal, where he's prepping for a gig, it's hard to believe I'm talking to a dude who's stared down the reigning grande dame of contemporary rock craziness.
Zadorozny used his hush money to set up a studio in his hometown, where he produced music by pals like Auf der Maur and Sam Roberts before completing the new Blinker the Star disc, Still In Rome, a sweeping, crunchy guitar-heavy rock epic, mere weeks ago.

The current album "is about sex in the last weekend of August," Zadorozny says before probing the deeper meanings.
While the spirit, energy and some of the more angular melodies found on August Everywhere continue to suggest Zadorozny's fondness for the established geniuses of punk, the album's sophisticated songcraft and arrangements intimate the influence of classic pop artists.
Jordon's previous experience as a vocalist scared him so shitless that he didn't sing for a long time after that.

Blinker the Star - Biography - AOL Music
Blinker the Star began as a one-man band in the basement of then-22-year-old Toronto native Jordon Zadorozny following a fire in his parents' music store that resulted in instruments and recording equipment being stored in his cellar.
Zadorozny's music is proudly lo-fi, making use of as many low-budget effects and recording techniques as he can improvise.
The songs on Blinker the Star's self-titled debut album, which was released in 1995, are the original basement recordings; Zadorozny refused to redo them in a studio for fear of losing interesting mistakes or effects he did not remember how to duplicate.

Hard to believe Blinker the Star frontguy Jordon Zadorozny used to be in a Pixies-ish rock band called Blinker the Star.
Zadorozny has abandoned the angular rhythms and abraded guitar textures that marked his group's last effort, A Bourgeois Kitten, in favor of a lush pop approach that mines the kind of harmony-and-heartache territory tapped by folks like Jason Falkner and Fountains of Wayne.
Zadorozny doesn't copyright his songs as "Satin Doombox" for nothing.

Canada's Blinker the Star is the brainchild of songwriter Jordon Zadorozny, who formed the group at the same time he was in a band with Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur called Tinker.
Love began writing songs with Zadorozny, and one of those collaborations, "Reasons to Be Beautiful," ended up on Hole's incredibly overrated Celebrity Skin, supplying Zadorozny with his biggest audience yet.
Zadorozny says the album is meant to express the emotions around his favorite time of year, late summer/early fall, which he captures with all the majesty of an expressive painter or poet.

On "Crazy Eyes," Zadorozny's vocals strain towards the stratosphere until they get all fuzzed out and indistinct, but just when the song seems a little too dreamy, handclaps and new wave-esque synths ground it all.
The band’s lead singer, Jordon Zadorozny, has risen from his humble beginnings growing up in Canada to becoming a prolific songwriter.
The tracks’ chilling acoustic guitar and shrilling keyboards, mixed with Zadorozny’s wailing vocals leave the listener in a state of melodrama and reflection.

Blinker the Star mastermind Jordon Zadorozny may well be the pre-millennial poster boy for indie rock.
If so, the record Jordon's always wanted to make is a decidedly polished, thoughtfully arranged and lyrically mature affair -- one that, despite drawing from the same pool of references, is leagues apart from the Smashing Pumpkins-lite riffage of his debut or the somewhat slapdash songcraft that characterizes much of Kitten.
Although Jordon laughs at the mention of his purportedly bohemian upbringing, truth is his family was far from Cleaver conventionality.

Although Zadorozny's sweet suites can often seem a bit fluffy, he always tries to undercut his wistful reminiscences on late-summer romance and youthful pathos with enough intelligent irony to keep them rooted in reality.
Jordon Zadorozny -- who for all intents and purposes is Blinker the Star, their Brian Wilson-styled mastermind -- was drafted by Courtney Love to add some polish to her songs for Hole's classic pop move, Celebrity Skin.
Zadorozny isn't afraid to try different things, whether it's tight, driving pop ("Your Big Night, Sandy!") or spacy, acoustic pop ("The Star Behind the Star").

 Blinker the Star
Band leader Jordon Zadorozny cleverly winks at the two B's--Beatles and Beach Boys--as well as Elton John, ELO, XTC, Jellyfish and Ben Folds Five, and avoids a retro rip-off by adding an alt-rock veneer.
Aspiring to heavenly pop heights, Zadorozny arranges his songs to epic scale, and overcomes his often flat, nasal singing with abundant vocal harmonies and versatile use of piano and strings to convey emotion.
Though imitation is often said to be the sincerest form of flattery, credit Zadorozny and a growing number of songsmiths--including Matthew Sweet, Elliott Smith, Jason Falkner, Rufus Wainwright and Jon Brion--for having the intelligence to pay homage to the classics by updating them with their own unique, modern vision.

But where Wainwright drew his inspiration from show tunes and opera, Blinker the Star's Jordon Zadorozny draws inspiration from the American underground rock scene of the '80s; he says he decided to try his hand at singing after hearing Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis massacre a song.
Where Wainwright has the heart and vision of a classicist, though, the furthest Zadorozny can peer back is the early-'70s piano rock of Todd Rundgren, not necessarily the most interesting spot to land.
Zadorozny can write a song (he helped Courtney Love construct the glorious "Reasons to Be Beautiful" on Hole's most recent album, Celebrity Skin), and the record suggests that a live performance of these songs shines just as brightly.
