Jorge Arturo Cardinal Medina Estévez (born December 23 1926) is a former Bishop of Valparaíso and a cardinal of the Catholic church.
Medina was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2005 papal conclave, and, following the conclusion of the conclave, as cardinal protodeacon, he had the task of announcing to the world the election of Pope Benedict XVI.
Cardinal Medina loses his right to participate in future conclaves if the next vacancy of the Holy See occurs after December 23, 2006.

Two of the main objections in the letter were the plan to transfer the main altar 60 feet closer to the cathedral's center aisle and to place a prominent organ in the apse where the original high altar was.
