		José Serra Chirico si a Brazilian politician born in Moóca district of São Paulo on the 19th of March 1942.
		His main acheivements in public life are his acting as Deputy on a national level (1986-1994) and Senator (1994-2002), his nomination as Minister for Planning and the Buget (1995-1996), and Minister of Health (1998-2002).
		He is the only child of Francisco Serra, an immigrant from Calabria, Italy, who had a fruit stall at the Mercado da Cantaneira (Mercado da Cantareira), and Serafina Chirico, also a daughter of Clabrian immigrants.

		On August 28, 1784, at the age of 70 and after traveling 24,000 miles, Father Junipero Serra died at Mission San Carlos Borromeo and is buried there under the sanctuary floor.
